Gullu Biography
Gullu Early Life and Education
Kushal Tanwar was born and raised in Gurugram, Haryana. From a young age, he developed a strong interest in physical fitness and bodybuilding. His dedication to fitness eventually earned him the nickname “Gullu Boxer.”
Alongside his fitness routine, Kushal pursued a career-oriented education in hospitality. Between 2019 and 2022, he studied at the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (IHMCT), Pune, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management.
His academic background later helped him gain practical experience in hospitality, restaurant operations, and event management.
Gullu Career
Before entering reality television, Kushal worked across different areas of the hospitality and events industry. From October 2019 to June 2022, he worked as a freelance event manager in Jaipur, Rajasthan. In June 2020, he also co-founded a café in Gurugram and was involved in its operations until November that year.
Kushal later gained hotel-industry experience through an internship at Radisson Hotel Gurugram Sohna Road City Center, where he worked from February to May 2021. He subsequently worked as an Assistant Manager at Knight Rider Junction from February to May 2022. In June 2022, he joined Praxis Services Pvt. Ltd. in Gurugram as a service expert.
These experiences gave Kushal a professional foundation before he eventually shifted his focus towards digital content and entertainment. Kushal began building his digital presence in 2024 by launching his YouTube channel, Kushal Tanwar-GULLU.
His content largely focuses on lifestyle, daily vlogs, and fitness-related updates. Through YouTube and Instagram, Kushal gradually developed a dedicated audience and established his personal brand beyond reality television.

Kushal Tanwar’s breakthrough came with MTV Roadies Season 20, also known as MTV Roadies Double Cross, in 2025. Interestingly, his association with Roadies dates back to 2019, when he auditioned for the show dressed as a fake sheikh. The unusual audition did not lead to his selection at the time.
Years later, Kushal returned for Roadies XX and successfully secured a place in Elvish Yadav’s gang. His journey on the show was filled with unexpected twists. Kushal was eliminated by his own teammates but returned to the competition as a wildcard contestant, joining Gautam Gulati’s team. He later made a strategic “double cross” by rejoining Elvish Yadav ahead of the finale.
In June 2025, Kushal emerged as the winner of MTV Roadies Season 20. He completed the decisive finale task in 1 minute and 16 seconds, finishing ahead of Hartaaj Singh Gill. As the winner, Kushal received the Roadies trophy, ₹10 lakh cash prize, and a Hero Karizma motorcycle.
Reflecting on his victory, Kushal described the achievement as much more than a trophy, saying it represented his journey through difficult periods without external support. He dedicated the win to people who have felt alone or have been made to feel that they were not good enough. Following his Roadies victory, Kushal continued his reality television journey with Splitsvilla X6: Pyaar Ya Paisa, hosted by Sunny Leone and Karan Kundrra. During the show, Kushal developed a connection with Kaira Anu. The pair’s relationship became an important part of their journey as they progressed through the competition.
Kushal and Kaira eventually reached the grand finale and emerged as the winners, taking home the trophy and ₹20 lakh prize money.
